Unity and Tesselation??

Im guessing Unity currently dosent support this? and was wondering when it is likely to?

Not gonna happen for another 1000 years with this engine i belive:smile:. Unity was never the latest graphic advanced engine this is all what i am trying to say. Currently updated engine with tessallation is Unigine, you might look at that.

this feature just supported in Directx11.Unigine have it!

The upcoming version of Quest3D is supposed to support it also (as well as a couple other DX11 engines).

Metro 2033 PC version (DirectX 11) built on 4A Engine - tessellation displacement mapping produce some awesome visuals.

@Psyclone - where bouts in NZ are you based? Are you available for Unity development work?PM me if you are interested, might have some upcoming projects you might be interested in.

Wouldn’t sign that.
Its not possible now, but with Unity targeting consoles and with Unity just having to pickup the new hardware features somewhen soonish, it will surely somewhen become a topic.
right now the troublefactor in the equation is apple, who is having some very bad driver quality on ATI and which is still on opengl 2.1, which technically means DX9 and I don’t see Unity going ahead on the Windows side, at least not yet … (if apple remains that lame, then I hope they will though do it, cause by the end of 2011, there just has to be DX10+ support to make the desktop targeting of much meaning on windows anymore. ATI already partially stopped supporting DX9 several times in the past its only a matter of time until unity won’t work right on windows with dx9 anymore on ati cards)
