Vivox Summer Wrap Up: What’s New and What’s Coming

The summer has been flying by, and we on the Vivox team have been busy. We wanted to share some updates on what we’ve been working on and what’s coming up for the rest of the year.
Recent Releases
Unity AI Assistant
The Unity AI Assistant is now trained to help you install and set up Vivox in the Editor! Just tell the Assistant, “help me add voice [or text] chat to my game,” and it will take it from there. It retrieves Vivox from the Asset Store, configures it, and builds the foundation right into your project.
Zero Downtime Upgrades
This has been a long labor of love, we’re finally ready to deploy services that support zero downtime upgrades! Going forward, the domains used by developers through the Unity Dashboard won’t require scheduled downtime for maintenance, bug fixes, or new feature rollouts. Stay tuned; our first deployment is coming in the next few weeks. Over time, enterprise customers will also receive this upgrade.
Voice Fonts
Released for beta testing in our 5.27.3 SDK, Voice Fonts will have a full GA release in the next few weeks. This feature lets users customize or alter their voice in real-time, opening up new possibilities for gameplay, identity, and social connection.

Message Translation
We’re building real-time text message translation to help players communicate more easily across languages. Coming by end of year.
Unified SDK
We’re continuing to work toward feature parity across Unity, Unreal, and Core SDKs to help teams build with a more consistent Vivox experience. Coming by end of year.
Modernized Text Chat
We’re filling the gaps in our current text offering. We believe features like robust emoji support, threaded replies, pinned messages (announcements), and @mentions are standard in most messaging apps and should be part of the Vivox experience, too.
