Animation without bones.

FYI Using Maya 2010.

I created a little blob character. He has no limbs so I thought I could just use deformers, bake the mesh then delete the lattice. However when I import the file (FBX) into unity it’s stuck and will not play.

Is there something wrong? Can Unity only support mesh animation when attached to a bone system?

Yes. Unless you deform verts by hand. But that wouldn’t be very practical.
