Unity bake time increases endlessly regardless of scene size and settings

I am lost. I have no idea what is going on. I can take any scene and work on it a few times and baking goes well. After a few bakes it stops working. I can reduce settings and even remove the whole scene. Clean Cache. Reduce lightmap size and scale. You name it. It will still not bake anymore. This happens every time, every scene, every pipe line. And I can not find a solution online that makes sense. Is it related to broken hardware or drivers?

And if I try and shutdown Unity after this happens. Well, it also goes into an endless shutdown mode. And I have tried all the 2020 versions.

In my attached image you see engine version, graphic card, low settings and just a plane. And it is still trying to bake it…
I am unable to make lighting tutorials or help people because of this.

That is a strange problem. I am wondering if it might be some sort of bug.:hushed:

Is this still currently occurring?

Yeah, I just shut down and restart Unity every time it happens to motivate myself to do more but right now it happens too much so I am taking a break and doing work in Unreal also.
